1. 2009.10.21 Regulations for National Health Insurance Premium Subsidy to the Unemployed Insured Person and His/Her Dependents
Article 1
These regulations were established in accordance with Article 10 Paragraph 2 of the Employment Insurance Act (hereafter referred to as the Act).
Article 2
Targets of the National Health Insurance premium subsidy in accordance with Subparagraph 5, Paragraph 1, Article 10 of the Act are as follows:
1. Unemployed insured person.
2. Dependents insured along with the insured person.
The insured person stipulated in Subparagraph 1 of the preceding paragraph refers to a person who receives unemployment benefit or vocational training living allowance in accordance with the Act.
Dependants stipulated in Subparagraph 2 of Paragraph 1 refers to dependants who had joined the National Health Insurance with the insured person at the time the insured person left his/her job and withdrew from his/her insurance, and who maintain the status of a dependant stipulated in Article 9 of the National Health Insurance Act or a Category 6 insured person for the duration of subsidization. However, this does not include dependants who backdated to join the insurance after the insured person had left his/her job and withdrawn from his/her insurance.
Article 3
For insured persons who meet the criteria set forth in the preceding article, the insurer should subsidize their self-paid portion of National Health Insurance premiums on a monthly basis.
The insurance premium subsidy mentioned in the preceding paragraph shall be the amount payable by a person who receives unemployment benefit or vocational training living allowance at the end of each month when receiving the benefit.
Article 4
The insurer should submit the name, National ID card number, date of leaving the job and withdrawing from his/her insurance, the insured unit at the time of leaving the job and withdrawing from the insurance of the person who regularly receives unemployment benefit and vocational training living allowance to the Bureau of National Health Insurance.
After checking the status of the unemployed insured person and his/her dependants stipulated in Article 2, all data shall be returned to the insurer for confirmation.
Article 5
The Bureau of National Health Insurance shall calculate the self-paid portion of National Health Insurance premium based on data confirmed by the insurer in the preceding article, and submit receipts to the insurer for payment procedures.
Article 6
These regulations shall take effect on the date of promulgation.
